Wild turkeys have been visiting the Research Center regularly, and provide much entertainment for the staff scientists. Turkey-watching is enhanced by the fact that food is available for them at the observation area. For two seasons, 1999 and 2000, we have been able to see the mating rituals, the disappearance of the hens to their nests, their re-appearance with their family of chicks, and the rapid growth of the little ones.
